September was a great month for SNPhA.
School is back in full swing and with it so are SNPhA events.
This semester we have already had many recruitment events, education events, and service events.
Some highlights:
Senate Carnival
Right as August ended we had Senate Carnival. Our members had a table to introduce the organization to PY1s and other interested students.
Dinner with SNPhA
Another great recruitment event! Food brings everyone together.
Unity in the Community
We did blood pressure, glucose screenings, and disseminated hypertension prevention and awareness materials at Unity in the Community Day which took place at the NC State Fairgrounds. This event is one of several in our partnership with C.A.A.R.E, Inc. of Durham. There were also several other patient care events this month.
Blood Glucose and Blood Pressure Trainings
The students became the teachers during these training sessions. PY2s and PY3s flexed their skills to teach PY1s how to perform blood glucose and blood pressure testing. These events were through our partnership with CAPS.
